FAQ
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in West Houston, TX. Close to where Beltway 8 and Westheimer Rd. meets. My fees are based om a 60 mile round trip from zip code 77082 in Houston. I am happy to meet you at a location outside of Houston too, but a milage fee will be added to the price.
What can I expect during the photo shoot?
A photo shoot customized to your needs!
I approach each photo session with the mindset that it's unique and that it's a collaboration. First of all we'll have a conversation on what type of style or mood you want in your photos. I want to get to know what you want from the photo shoot and what you don't want before we start shooting. I will give you examples and suggestions of poses before we start so you'll have some "go to" poses and I will also guide you and encourage you along the way. I am very open to suggestions and I find it helpful if you have practiced a bit, or have an idea of which poses you like before the shoot I will have you sign a model release form before we start taking any photos.
I do some test shots of you in the beginning of the session, so both you and I, get warmed up and get comfortable with each other. I will also give you a chance to look at some of the photos I take of you during the shoot, so you get an idea of what the photos look like, and if there is anything you'd like to change or add.
How long does a photo shoot last?
A one person photo shoot lasts between one-two hours or more, depending on the location, if we need to move form one place to another and it also depends on if you have outfit changes during the shoot.
How much do you charge for a session?
My session fees varies depending on your needs. Starting at $225 for a 1 hour shoot where you will receive 3 edited, digital(jpg) high resolution images.
How far in advance do you recommend I book a session?
I recommend booking 4 weeks in advance to make sure you'll get a reserved spot on the day of your choice and it gives you time for planning out your session.
What about location changes within a session?
I will customize the session to your wishes, but also advice you on what is achievable based on my previous experiences.
Do you have a studio?
Yes, I have a photography studio located in West Houston and you can combine having studio portraits done with shooting at outdoor locations.
Skin break outs, will you edit the photos?
Yes, I do standard retouching on all my images, and I want to highlight your favorite qualities, and will edit out skin break outs.
What is the difference between editing and retouching the images?
Editing means adjustments to brightness, contrast, coloring, etc. I include post work in my pricing. It can be very time consuming and I spend a few hours after a session just editing!
Retouching involves Photoshop or other programs to manipulate an image. Basic retouch often covers removal of blemishes, soften shadow and shine, remove stray hairs, or other out of place details. Retouching can get complicated with such things as fixing clothing, taking away body weight, fixing large pieces of hair.
When will I get my photos?
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 2 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints, canvases and more directly from my website!
I will show you your photos from the back of my camera during our shoot, so you have an idea of what they will look like and so we can make adjustments along the way.
In a studio session you'll be able to see the images I take in real time on my computer.
Can I share my images on social media?
Absolutely! I love when my clients are excited about how their photos turned out and want to share them!
My only requests are that you do not alter the images in any way, no new crop, don't add any filters to them and I request that you give me photography credit on your post and tag me.
How many pictures will we receive?
The amount of photos you will receive depends on the package you choose. I will deliver up to 40 edited digital (jpg) images. I always choose quality rather than quantity.
Can I bring someone along for may session?
Yes of course! I encourage you to bring a parent or a friend with you. They can help you feel more relaxed and if you are under 18 I insist that you bring someone with you.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Yes, I am happy to shoot your family pet too!
What to wear for my session?
It's important for you to feel confident and relaxed in what you wear to your session.
Big logos and a lot of patterns are not recommended. Those will draw the attention and we don't want that. The attention should be drawn to you!
I do like to discuss some outfit options to match your look with a certain location or color of details in the background.
Props like a hat, sunglasses, flower/s, and an instrument (if you play one) can be used as well to personalize your shoot even more.
The most important thing is to have the real you shine through in your final images.

Do you have a hair and makeup artist available for your clients before a session?
I can certainly connect you with a fantastic hair and make up artist if you wish. I recommend having hair and light makeup done to optimize the end result, but it's entirely up to you if you'd like to do so.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least a 48 hour notice if you need to cancel your session.
If we have an outdoor shoot and the weather does not allow us to go through with the shoot, I will reschedule and find a new day and time for our shoot that will work for both parties.
If I, for some unforseen reason, needs to reschedule, you can choose to get a refund of your session fee, or we will find a new date for your session at a time suitable for both parties.
How do I pay you?
Session fees are due at the time of booking. I accept cash, cheque and credit cards through my website. 8.25% sales tax rate will be applied to digital images.
In the interest of fairness to all of my clients, please understand that session fees, print prices, and business policies are not negotiable. Due to the custom nature of the products all sales are final.
Why have you chosen photography as your profession?
When I started photographing over 10 years ago, I fell in love with it. I do it because it's my passion not only a job. I photograph on my free time as well. It's a creative profession and there are always new things to learn and the possibilities are endless. I enjoy meeting different people and create together. It is so satisfactory to be part of creating a memory for someone.
How can I get more information about working with you?
I am happy to speak with you on the phone to better understand your needs and so I can provide you with the right experience customized just for you.
